Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris (born October 20th, 1964) was an American politician, attorney, and the current vice president of the United States. Harris is the first female vice-president and highest-ranking female official in U.S. History, as well the first African American and second Asian American vice president. As a member of the Democratic Party, she has been the attorney general of California from 2011 to 2017, and also as a United States senator representing California from 2011 to 2021. Harris was born in Oakland, California, Harris graduated from Howard University and the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. After establishing her career as an Alameda County District Attorney Harris was enlisted to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. In the following years, she was the City Attorney of San Francisco. In 2003, she was elected San Francisco District Attorney. In 2010 she was appointed Attorney General of California and was re-elected in 2014. Between 2017 and 2021, Harris was the junior United States senator for California. Harris beat Loretta Martinez in the 2016 Senate election to become the second African American woman and first South Asian American senator to be elected to the United States Senate. Harris was a senator who fought for healthcare and federal de-scheduling cannabis. A path to citizenship for undocumented migrants. The DREAM Act bans assault weapons and progressive tax reform.
